· Peters at Talladega… The Mountain Dew 250 will mark Timothy Peters second career start at Talladega Superspeedway. Last fall, he started 23rd and finished 11th. Although not a veteran of the Alabama track, Peters knows how to race ‘superspeedway style.’ In February, he won the season opening race at Daytona International Speedway with a last lap pass. Peters also has two top-10 finishes in three starts at Daytona and has never finished outside of the top-12. On Saturday, Peters will have that race winning chassis under him as he goes for back to back superspeedway victories.

· Giving Back In Alabama… Peters will be taking some time out of his busy race weekend schedule to participate in the 24th annual Race Fever benefiting the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. Peters will sign autographs for fans as well as Institute students in attendance. The event has raised more than four million dollars for deaf, blind and multi-disabled students across the state of Alabama. This will be Peters second year participating in the event.

· Every Point Counts… As the season winds down, Peters knows that every point he earns in these last four events will be critical especially after Martinsville. A late race accident relegated Peters to a 34th place finish which in turn dropped him two spots in the point standings; he currently sits seventh. With the goal of getting back inside the top-five, Peters knows he must earn as many points as possible before the checkered flag falls at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He is 73 points behind the fifth spot.

Timothy Peters on racing at Talladega Superspeedway: “I’m ready to get to Talladega and shake this bad luck off of us. We are taking the bullet we won Daytona with so I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of that truck and seeing if we can repeat our performance. Last year was my first race at Talladega and we had an ok run going but having won at Daytona earlier this year gives me at lot of confidence.

We just need to stay out of trouble and be near the front on the last lap. I don’t want to be leading those last couple laps because that guy usually is a sitting duck. I want to be in the position to make a move coming out of turn four and complete the pass just in time to see the checkered flag fall. I would love to get this team back to Victory Lane and put the bad luck of the last couple races behind us.”

Equipment Information: Timothy Peters will compete with chassis #140 in the Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway. This is the same chassis he raced at Daytona in February where he started 24th and won the race.
