No. 25 EXIDE Toyota Tundra News and Notes

This Week’s Tundra… Malsam will compete with chassis RMM-107 at Phoenix International Speedway on Friday night. The chassis was last raced at O’Reilly Raceway Park during this summer’s nine-race stretch. At that event, the EXIDE Toyota team raced to a ninth-place finish despite having damage to the nose of their Toyota Tundra.

Welcome Back Exide… Tayler Malsam will return to the track in the No. 25 EXIDE Toyota Tundra this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. The 21-year-old Pacific Northwest native raced with the support of the Georgia-based company during his 2010 debut with Randy Moss Motorsports at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This season marks the second consecutive year of Randy Moss Motorsports being powered by EXIDE.

Malsam and Stillman Race Together Again… Tayler Malsam’s return to Randy Moss Motorsports allowed him to be reunited with his former crew chief, Dan Stillman. Racing in his sophomore season, Malsam started the year racing with Stillman calling the shots for his team at Kyle Busch Motorsports. After that partnership was cut short, the two reunited on the No. 25 EXIDE Toyota Tundra at Randy Moss Motorsports. Stillman is a seasoned veteran in NASCAR’s top-three divisions with a total of 14 years experience, and has been calling the shots as a crew chief for the last six seasons.

Coverage of the 150-mile race will be aired on SPEED, MRN Radio and Sirius XM Radio, Channel 128, at 7:30 p.m. EST. Qualifying will take place just hours before the green flag is scheduled to drop at the Arizona track on Friday afternoon and will be broadcast on SPEED Channel at 4:30 p.m. EST.

Tayler Malsam on racing at Phoenix International Raceway

“I’m really looking forward to going back to Phoenix [International Raceway] again. It’s a track unlike any other that the [NASCAR Camping World] Truck Series races at throughout the season. It has a whole different set of challenges than what we face on a weekly basis, so I’m looking forward to making my second start there in the No. 25 EXIDE Toyota Tundra. Both of my trucks from Randy Moss Motorsports have been really competitive this season, and I’m sure this week’s truck will be no different.”

Crew Chief Dan Stillman on competing at Phoenix International Raceway

“I’m looking forward to having Tayler [Malsam] in the EXIDE Toyota Tundra this weekend at Phoenix [International Raceway]. He isn’t scared to get up on the wheel and make something happen throughout the course of the race. Even after we damaged our truck last week, he was still giving it all he had and picking up positions. Phoenix [International Raceway] is a really cool place; it’s a completely different type of track and I think Tayler will do very well behind the wheel of the EXIDE Toyota Tundra.”
