Avondale, AZ – November 12, 2010. Jason White brought high hopes to Phoenix International Raceway for a solid run in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Lucas Oil 150 on Friday night. The night ended with disappointment for the Virginia native just one third of the way into the 150-mile race and left White in a tight battle for tenth in the point standings.

White qualified the GunBroker.com / Mule Deer Foundation Toyota nineteenth on Friday afternoon with a lap of 27.78 seconds at nearly 128 mph putting the No. 23 on the inside of the ninth row at the start of the 150-lap race on the flat one-mile track.

Mired in traffic at the start of the race, Jason settled into the nineteenth place early in the race and patently waited for the tire pressures to build and see what adjustments would be needed on the first stop, moving up to eighteenth when the first caution flew on lap eighteen. None of the leaders pit on the first caution so Crew Chief Doug Howe felt it was too risky to give up track position to make any adjustments so early in the race.

As the Lucas Oil 150 approached the one-third mark, White had moved up several more positions and the SS Green Light team was hoping for a caution to make adjustments to help Jason race towards the top-ten. Unfortunately, on lap fifty-four Jason was the cause of the races second caution dropping fluid on the racetrack when the powerplant in his GunBroker.com / Mule Deer Foundation Toyota expired.

The motor failure was White’s fourth of the 2010 NCWTS season and left Jason frustrated about the situation.

“We blew three straight engines back in the middle of the year so we made a lot of changes to prevent this from happening again,” a dejected White said following the race. “All four of our DNF’s this year are from engine issues, I don’t think anyone has the bad luck we’ve had with motors this year.”

“We just have to put this behind us, go to Homestead and put the GunBroker No. 23 up front and be sure we finish in the top-ten in the standings.”

Clint Bowyer won the race ahead of Kyle Busch and Johnny Sauter. White’s SS green Light teammate David Starr finished eighth in the ASI Limited / Zachry Toyota.

Jason holds tenth place in the NCWTS point standings behind Todd Bodine, who clinched the 2010 Drivers Championship Friday night heading to the season finale at Homestead on November 19th. He is now twenty-three points ahead of James Buescher and fifty-five points ahead of Ricky Carmichael for the tenth spot.
