A Raybestos Rookie has now scored a top-10 in each of the last three consecutive races at Homestead.

THE RACING SEEMED VERY INTENSE TONIGHT.
“It was. This place is just tough to pass so everybody is just packed together like a superspeedway. It should have been a heck of a race for the fans. I just wish I could have been up there racing with ‘em.”
RICHARD CHILDRESS, CAR OWNER, No. 3 BASS PRO SHOPS / TRACKER BOATS CHEVROLET:
YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE PERFORMANCE BY AUSTIN DILLON THIS SEASON.
“He’s had a great year. He had a rookie year, he had a few mistakes but all in all he had a great year. Nothing to complain about. I knew he was disappointed tonight but when you think about everything he’s done this year, the most poles, the speed, everything he done he had a hell of a year and we’re proud of it.”
DID YOU THINK HE WOULD PERFORM THIS WELL?
“We knew we’d be pretty good but we had no idea that we’d have the year we had.”
DO YOU MANAGE THE EXPECTATIONS FOR HIM NEXT YEAR BECAUSE HE DID SO WELL THIS SEASON?
“Well when you look through the history of football, baseball, racing, anything, your sophomore year is always the toughest. If they can have a year as good as they had this year it’ll be a great year.”

“It was great. I felt like the mid-season we really hit a strike. The first race out and the last race out I really showed the stripes there [smiles]. For some reason I tried to make it four-wide there at the end just trying to make something happen. I felt like we had a good truck, just should have waited an extra lap before I made that move. All in all it was a great season for Bass Pro Shops and our entire team. Looking forward to next year and run for the championship.”
COMMENT ON THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF WINNING RAYBESTOS ROOKIE OF THE YEAR.
“It was a great year. Like I said earlier, Raybestos Rookie of the Year is something that we went into the season wanting to win. That was our main goal and to finish top-10 in points, trying to do that and we were able to get top-five somehow. Just a great year. We came out with two wins, a bunch of poles, wish we could have had a few more wins with all those poles that we got but I’m really excited about going into next year. It’s been a great year. It’s cool that Raybestos sponsors the rookie deal and hopefully just keep going. I guess I’m a veteran next year and that’s kind of hard to think about.”
