Kenseth and Edwards Clinch Spots in 2011 Chase for the Sprint Cup with Top-10 Finishes at Bristol

BRISTOL, Tenn. (August 27, 2011) – Roush Fenway Racing’s Matt Kenseth and Carl Edwards each clinched a berth in the 2011 NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup ‘playoff’. It marks the seventh time in eight seasons of the Chase that Kenseth has qualified for the field. It is the sixth time in seven attempts that Edwards has earned a Chase berth. Kenseth led 110 laps en route to a sixth-place finish in Saturday night’s Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway to clinch the spot.
