Team Looks to Improve on Top-25 Finish from Driver’s FRM Debut

Statesville, NC (September 20, 2011) - J.J. Yeley’s July debut with Front Row Motorsports at New Hampshire Motor Speedway ended in a 23rd-place finish – the team’s best finish at the one-mile oval in three seasons. Now the driver returns to the track in the same car with the same No. 38 Long John Silver’s team, looking to find even more speed.

The flat track in Loudon, N.H., is statistically Yeley’s best track. He has one top-five and three top-10 finishes in eight Cup starts at Loudon. The team will have to qualify on speed for Sunday’s Sylvania 300, but Yeley has successfully qualified for all three events he’s been entered with the No. 38 team.

Comments from Long John Silver’s team driver J.J. Yeley on the Loudon race:

“The car we took to Loudon the first time we’re taking back again. And I know it’s been revamped, so the body work is a little bit nicer and I think the car is going to be a little bit lighter. So, we’re taking a better bullet to the fight.

“Having some races with Jay (crew chief Jay Guy) under my belt now, we’re working together as a team better, having a better understanding of what I’m trying to get out of the racecar, already running a race there so we know what to fix. All that should put us that much more ahead of the game when we go back this week.

“It also helps when we run consecutive weeks together as a team. I drove the No. 38 Monday at Chicago and we’ll be working together again this weekend in Loudon. It helps to kind of have that rhythm, working with the same people, same patterns. We still have some learning to do, working together as a group, but we’ll see that progress the more we work together.

“We had a good weekend going at Chicago. We were top-15 in practice and, I think, second fastest of the go-or-go-home cars in qualifying. And we were looking at a top-25 finish probably until we blew a right front tire. So, we are definitely finding some speed. I’m looking forward to going back to Loudon to see if we can do even better than we did last time.”
