Frank Kimmel Hoping Irish Hills Bring Luck in the Form of a Win at Michigan
By Chris Knight
Frank Kimmel is looking to make the 30th appearance of the ARCA Racing Series at Michigan a memorable one. Kimmel has continued to pile up steady finishes over the past few weeks, but still longs for his first win of the season. “We’ve been knocking on the door all season. I’m happy with how consistent we’ve raced, but at the same time it’d be nice to end up in victory lane.”
Last weekend, Kimmel qualified 3rd overall for the Pocono ARCA 200. He was consistently fast throughout the race until a loose window net and long pit sequence shuffled the field. Fog would shorten the race, with Kimmel in the 8th position.
Kimmel will be piloting the Roush-Yates powered No. 44 Ansell-Menards Ford for the RainEater Wiper Blades 200 at Michigan International Speedway. Fortunately for Frank, Michigan is one of his better tracks. He has 2 career wins and an average finishing position of 13th at MIS. Kimmel still remains 2nd in the overall point standings for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. He’s 155 points behind the current leader, Ty Dillon.
Activities for Frank Kimmel begin with a Menards store location visit on Thursday, June 16, which will last for an hour. Frank is set to sign autographs and pose for pictures with race fans and Menards shoppers. Kimmel will appear at the Jackson Menards store near exit 38 on Highway 127 – 3588 Page Avenue – at 7:00 p.m.
“I always enjoy getting to visit any Menards location and getting to visit with the fans. It reminds me why I love what I do,” said Kimmel. “Hopefully, we’ll bring out a pretty good crowd that might buy a pair of Ansell gloves while they’re in the store.”
Then, on Friday night, Frank Kimmel will look to find some luck in the Irish Hills of Michigan. When the sun goes down the speeds will go up, and Kimmel will attempt to drive his way to his first victory of the season, and 3rd of his career at Michigan International Speedway in the RainEater Wiper Blades 200.
Watch for Frank Kimmel as he goes for his third win at Michigan International Speedway driving the No. 44 Ansell-Menards Ford on June 17th for the RainEater Wiper Blades 200 in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. Also, be sure to visit a Menards location to purchase your next pair of Ansell Gloves.
