Ryan Blaney Set to Make ARCA Debut with Venturini Motorsports
Press ReleaseThis week is no different as 17-year old Ryan Blaney prepares to make his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut at Winchester Speedway. Blaney, the son of NASCAR and World of Outlaws Sprint Car veteran Dave Blaney, will take the green flag Saturday night at the historic half-mile, high-banked oval in the Winchester ARCA 200 presented by Federated Auto Parts, driving the No.25 Venturini Motorsports Toyota.
Blaney, who tested with Venturini at Winchester earlier this month, impressed the team from the moment the car rolled off the truck.
“Blaney tested remarkably well with the No.25 team, “said, Billy Venturini. “He was really fast and showed good car control on a difficult track. He was up to speed right off the truck. He’s going to be very tough. He’s a very good young driver and should give the veteran ARCA drivers a good test this weekend”.
Blaney, a native of High Point, N.C., is the 2010 CRA ‘Southern Six-Pack’ Champion, with one victory. He also finished runner-up in the 2010 PASS South Championship with three wins. Blaney’s career began with a victory in quarter midgets at age nine at the dirt track on the grounds of Pocono Raceway on a weekend when his father was also competing. From there, the third-generation driver progressed through the Legends Cars, Bandolero Cars.
Ryan Blaney will be the 7th Venturini development driver to make their ARCA Racing Series debut in 2011.
Earlier this year Brennan Poole made his dramatic entrance into the series by winning his debut race at Salem Speedway. Other new drivers achieving success under the Venturini banner this year include 19-year old Kenzie Ruston, 18-year old John Stancil, Australian driving star, George Meidecke and European driver, Alistair ‘Ali’ Jackson. In just six ARCA Series starts this talented group of drivers has achieved 1 victory, 3 top-5 and 5 top-10 finishes.
