Fast Track Blue Collar Hero Driver Challenge
Fast Track Blue Collar Hero Driver Challenge
(Harrisburg, NC – 7/1/11) – Drivers from several states have participated in a quest to show off their talents and hopefully bring home the opportunity to qualify and race in the ARCA Racing Series event at Lucas Oil Raceway on July 28, 2011. With a full day of on-track driving at “Little Rock” at Rockingham Speedway, beginning with the Fast Track High Performance Driving School cars and moving into the full blown ARCA cars, drivers have been steadily participating in several dates since March 12, 2011, with the final day of competition on June 21. Eighteen year old, Mooresville, NC resident Ryan Glenski has been named the Fast Track Blue Collar Hero, and will get his opportunity to race at Lucas Oil Raceway on July 28 in a car owned by Andy Hillenburg and prepared by his Fast Track Racing staff.

Glenski moved to Mooresville when he was 4 years old from Syracuse, N.Y. His father, Randy Glenski, raced dirt modifieds in upstate New York for 20 years, but wanted the family to be in the center of the stock car world, where Ryan would have more of an opportunity to get into the sport. That move to Mooresville led to young Glenski racing go-karts at the age of 5. Five years later, Glenski made the jump to the Bandolero Series. At age 14 he got a great opportunity driving in the Allison Legacy Series, owned by former NASCAR driver Donnie Allison, brother of hall of fame driver Bobby Allison. After a two-year stint competing and gaining valuable knowledge from the Allisons, Glenski made the move to the Late Model Series at age 16.

“I gained a lot of knowledge along the way in all those series,” said Glenski. “Now I feel I’m ready to make the move to ARCA. I’m real excited,” added Glenski. “Fast Track has great equipment and Andy is a great mentor to have. Going to Little Rock was a ton of fun. I can’t wait to get to the ARCA race at Lucas Oil Raceway.”

“I’m very fortunate to see a lot of young talent come to Fast Track, and I’m very confident that Ryan will do a great job for us in the ARCA race at Lucas Oil Raceway. There were so many talented drivers that came into this deal, I’m sure they will be heard from as their careers progress.”

Andy Hillenburg’s Fast Track Blue Collar Hero Driver Challenge is designed to develop approved applicants from the Saturday night short track driver to those aspiring to make it to the big-time series. The course was personally designed by Andy Hillenburg, the 1995 ARCA Racing Series Champion. The drivers are critiqued on car control, driving lines, braking techniques, pit road and race procedures with a focus on lap times, and given an assessment and evaluation by Hillenburg upon completion, and Ryan Glenski passed with flying colors.
