Long Pond, PA. – The No. 44 Ansell-Menards Ford, driven by Frank Kimmel, finished 10th this morning in the Pennsylvania ARCA 125 from Pocono Raceway. Frank Kimmel also qualified the Ansell-Menards Ford in the 10th position on Saturday before the race was moved to Sunday morning due to bad weather.

Track position was important for the short 50 lap race and Frank would battle with maintaining it through the 125 miles. At the drop of the green flag, Frank quickly moved the Ansell-Menards up two spots but would give those back and more on the first pit stop. Frank brought the Ansell-Menards Ford to his crew for a routine stop, including four tires and fuel.

Unluckily, a lug nut was left loose on the pit stop, which required Frank to bring the Ansell-Menards Ford back down pit road to tighten. The result was Frank restarting at the end of the lead lap. From there Frank Kimmel fought to work his way back to the top-10, eventually taking the checkered in 10th. Will Kimmel, Frank Kimmel’s nephew, finished 12th in the No. 68 Messina Wildlife / Menards Ford.

“I’m not sure what we have to do to get the luck to swing our way. We couldn’t get the track position we needed to compete today. We’d work our way into the top-10 and something would happen and we’d have to do it all over again. The Ansell-Menards Ford was better than a 10th place car. We’ll keep our heads high and go to Springfield,” said Frank Kimmel after the race.
