Cornelius, NC – Frank Kimmel has been through tough stretches before in his storied racing career and the last two weeks have ranked pretty high on the frustration meter for the nine-time ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Champion. By some standards, finishing 12th and 10th wouldn’t be that disappointing for some, but when your expectations have always been victory lane then anything less is a letdown. This coming Sunday could provide that remedy for the Ansell-Menards team, as they head back to the Illinois State Fairgrounds for the Allen Crowe 100.

Frank Kimmel returns to the Illinois State Fairgrounds as the all-time career leader in wins for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at that track, and he hopes his dominance in the past will translate into his first win of the season. If history is any indication, the Ansell-Menards Ford should be a force to contend with. Frank will be making his 20th start at Illinois State Fairgrounds this Sunday and the stats are pretty impressive, including seven wins and five Menards Pole Awards in those 19 previous starts.

“I love racing at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. It’s something about racing on dirt. A complete change of pace that I really look forward to each year. I think we’ll have a strong Ansell-Menards Ford for the race on Sunday,” said Frank Kimmel.

Activities for Frank Kimmel begin with a Menards store location visit on Saturday, August 20th, which will last for an hour-and-a-half. Frank is set to sign autographs, pose for pictures, and even offer a special promotion to store customers. Kimmel will first appear at the Springfield South Menards store starting at 11:00 am CST (3325 S Veterans Parkway). Later that day Frank arrives at the Springfield North location at 2:00 pm CST (2701 Marketplace Drive). Store visitors can take advantage of a special promotion at either location, simply by purchasing a pair of Ansell gloves inside the store. Those purchasing Ansell gloves inside Menards will receive a voucher for a free second pair of gloves, personally handed over by Kimmel outside the store.

“We always have fun at the Menards locations. We get right in front of the store and greet people coming in to do their shopping. They really enjoy getting to see the Ansell-Menards Ford,” concluded Frank.

Finally on Sunday afternoon, Frank Kimmel will try to go to victory lane for the 8th time at Illinois State Fairgrounds in the Allen Crowe 100.
