SPRINGFIELD, Illinois (August 20, 2011) – – Lakeville, Minnesota’s Win-Tron Racing has always been known for giving young and upcoming drivers a chance to shine in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. Sunday’s Allen Crowe 100 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds (Springfield) will be no different as the team has tapped Chris Windom to pilot the team’s No. 32 Champion Brands / Win-Tron Racing Dodge Charger.

Windom takes the reins for the veteran ARCA Racing Series team after NASCAR Whelen All-American Series standout Ryan Wilson raced with the organization at Lucas Oil Raceway and Indianapolis and Pocono (Pa.) Raceway respectively.

With Wilson’s ninth-place finish nearly two weeks ago at the 2.5-mile triangle, the team is confident that another rookie driver can wheel their No. 32 Champion Brands Dodge Charger to a strong run in the first of two dirt races this season.

“We welcome Chris Windom to the Win-Tron Racing family,” said Win-Tron Racing co-car owner Nate Thiesse. “We had a lot of options for drivers this weekend at Springfield, but after carefully reviewing the prospects, we felt like Chris will adapt well to the circumstances that will be handed to him.”

The Canton, Illinois rookie enters his ARCA Racing Series debut with a wealth of experience on dirt in various racing series including USAC (United States Auto Club) which easily makes him a potential sleeper for the 14th race of the season.

“We know it’s going to be a huge learning experience for him on Sunday,” continued Thiesse. “But, that is what the Win-Tron Racing team stands for in developing drivers. We know we’re going to have a good car, we just want Chris to go out there, learn and bring home the best finish he possibly can.”

Recently, Windom added another victory to his already impressive resume with a stunning victory in the 63rd annual Pay Less Little 500 at Anderson Speedway.

ARCA’s welcomed reunion with the Wisconsin short track signifies the 13th race that Champion Hi-Tech Lubricants, a division of Champion Brands will heed the role as the primary sponsor for the Lakeville, Minnesota-based team. Headquartered in Clinton, Missouri, Champion Brands LLC produces and blends more than 300 products including fuel, oil and engine additives and lubricants for the automotive, heavy truck, agricultural and specialty markets.

The Allen Crowe 100 (100 laps / 100 miles) is the 14th of 19 events on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The 29th ARCA event held at the Illinois State Fairgrounds is a one-day show. Practice begins Sunday, August 21 with a one hour practice session planned from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. The field will take the green flag Sunday afternoon shortly after 1:00 p.m. The event will not be televised but race coverage including live timing and scoring throughout the 1,326th race for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards since it was formed in 1953 will be available through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com presented by ARCANation.com.
