Cornelius, NC – Frank Kimmel, driver of the No. 44 Ansell-Menards Ford in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, will be making his eleventh trip to the half mile track of the Midwest called Kansas Speedway. Coming off a 5th place finish at Salem Speedway, the Kimmel Racing team had two weeks to prepare for this Friday night’s race and prepare is exactly what they did.

The Kimmel Racing team worked relentlessly over the racing break to get each Ansell-Menards Ford set-up for the two race homestretch on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. When asked, it didn’t take Frank Kimmel long to answer how he would like to finish out the 2011 ARCA Racing Series season.

“On the highest note possible,” Frank said instantly. “We have a chance to build our momentum heading into 2012 and I know we’re capable of winning at these last two tracks.”

Frank admitted that his team hit a streak of inconsistent races halfway through the season that saw his hopes for a 10th championship diminish. According to Frank, “we just had a few races there that were tough on us. Something either happened that was unexpected or we fought handling issues. I think we took a long look at it after our run at Lucas Oil Raceway and told ourselves that we were better than that.”

The cycle eventually turned and Frank had the Ansell-Menards Ford back up front contending. Of course, Frank will get another opportunity Friday night when the ACRA Racing Series presented by Menards competitors hit to the track for 99 laps under the lights at Kansas Speedway. Like so many on the schedule, Kansas Speedway has been kind to Frank Kimmel in the past. Frank has collected 2 wins, 2 pole awards and has an average finishing position of around 6th place in those 10 races.

“We should be good this weekend. I think we’re bringing a good Ansell-Menards Ford that’ll have a fresh Roush-Yates engine in it. We didn’t get to test, so we’ll have to rely on our notes from previous races but I expect a strong effort,” concluded Frank.

Watch for Frank Kimmel as he goes for his 3rd win at Kansas Speedway driving the No. 44 Ansell-Menards Ford this Friday night for the Kansas Lottery 98.9. Also, be sure to visit a Menards location to purchase your next pair of Ansell Gloves.
