Kansas City, KA – The No. 44 Ansell-Menards Ford, driven by Frank Kimmel, finished 9th in the night race at Kansas Speedway. Frank Kimmel qualified the Ansell-Menards Ford in the 14th position Friday afternoon, as the teams prepared for the last night race of 2011 in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.

Track position was important for the 99 lap race and Frank would battle with maintaining it throughout. At the drop of the green flag, Frank quickly moved the Ansell-Menards up two spots to 12th and would break into the top-10 after the first pit-stop.

The Kimmel Racing team battled a loose Ansell-Menards Ford throughout the race, especially on early laps. The crew took multiple swings at adjustments to tighten the Ansell-Menards Ford on pit-stops throughout the race. On longer green flag runs, Frank was able to pick up spots and would move as high as 6th late in the race. Yet, the Ansell-Menards Ford would surrender a few spots on a late restart when a few teams behind Frank came in for fresh Hoosiers tires.

“Not a bad night. The Ansell-Menards Ford was free in early runs and I had to be easy on the throttle in the corners but on long green flag runs we could make up positions. We ran out of time to get it right and even though 9th wasn’t what we wanted we’ll take another top-10. We have Toledo next weekend and I’m excited about that,” said Frank Kimmel after the race.
