“I’m really excited to get suited up and back out on the track again, especially at such a historic place like Daytona!” says Mayo. His two passions of music and racing will combine again as he will be driving a Dodge Charger prepped by Carter / Eminem Motorsports, a team co-owned by hip-hop icon Eminem and ARCA veteran Roger Carter. The three day test will include single car runs on Friday with drafting sessions taking place later in the weekend.
Twenty-three year old Mayo is no stranger behind the wheel as a former track champion of Music City Motorplex (Nashville, TN) and Lanier National Speedway (Braselton, GA). Although he’s raced on over thirty tracks in the Southeast, Trent will be one step closer in making his return to racing after a four year hiatus as he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master’s in Music Business from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. “I knew in order to reach my dreams of one day being a NASCAR team owner/driver as well as a touring Country music artist that I would need to carve my own path. Having a great education as a foundation would only enhance any opportunity that came my way and allow me to make smarter decisions in getting there.”
