Advertisment

CORNELIUS, N.C. (February 9, 2011) – Josh Wise is pleased to confirm he will be teaming up with Go Green Racing for the first four races of the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series season. Cajun Industries will come on board to support the team’s effort at Daytona International Speedway. Wise will compete for the Drive4COPD 300 win in the No. 39 Cajun Industries Ford Mustang at Daytona on Saturday, February 19.

Cajun Industries LLC, based in Baton Rouge, La., is one of the nation’s largest full-service, self-performing contractors. The company, which employs upwards of 2,000 people, has been heavily involved in the reconstruction of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.

Although this is the first time Cajun Industries has partnered with driver Josh Wise and Go Green Racing, the company has been involved in racing since 2009 and uses race sponsorships to boost employee morale and reward safe work practices among its employees.

In addition to serving as the primary sponsor at Daytona, Cajun Industries will also be an associate sponsor for Josh Wise and Go Green Racing at Phoenix International Raceway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway and Auto Club Speedway.

Wise made his NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) debut at Lucas Oil Raceway (formerly Indianapolis Raceway Park) in 2007, earning a 19th place finish. He went on to score his best NNS finish – fifth – at Lucas Oil Raceway in 2008. In 2010, Wise raced for various NNS teams, including JR Motorsports and Turner Motorsports. His top finish of 2010 came at Gateway, where he finished seventh in the No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet. Wise will return to NNS action this year, running several races for JR Motorsports in addition to his races with Go Green Racing.

“I am really eager to get the season started,” Wise said. “I am very thankful to Go Green Racing and Cajun Industries for the opportunity to race. I think we will run well, and I can’t wait to get on the track at Daytona.”

Ken Jacob, President and CEO of Cajun Industries, is also looking forward to Daytona.

“Cajun Industries is very excited to be back on the track for the 2011 NASCAR season,” he said. “We’re pleased to be paired with Josh Wise and Go Green Racing. Josh is a very talented young driver who will go far in the sport.”

The team will first take to the track on Wednesday, February 13, for practice. The Drive4COPD 300 is slated to start at 1:15 p.m. EST on Saturday, February 19.
