Shelby Howard / ML Motorsports Daytona International Speedway Preview
Press Release
For the 12th year, legendary racer and long time ML Motorsports friend Red Farmer will join the team in Daytona as a consultant. Crew Chief Chris Rice is ready for the 2011 season to start, “Man, how fun is it to go to Daytona, everybody has worked so hard through the winter getting ready for this. We are taking the same car that we used in July, but we’ve done a lot of updates to it. With those updates and the new surface I expect Shelby to really perform well with the Foretravel Motorcoach Chevrolet. We have also been working with ECR on our engine program and they will be providing some great motors this year. I’m also looking forward to talking with Red Farmer again, he is really a great guy and he brings so much information to Daytona, which has so many quirks,”
So, the clock is ticking, on the countdown to the Drive4COPD 300 on Saturday January 19th. Everyone at ML Motorsports will be busy working hard between now and then. All the off season hard work will be put to the test starting Monday afternoon when ‘Flounder’ rolls the Big Rig into the Daytona International Speedway infield. Unlike 2010 when the constant rains washed out qualifying and sent the 70 team home early, the hard work by all involved paid off when the team finished the season in the top 35 owner points and locked the team in to start the first 5 races of 2011. Watch for the Red and White #70 Chevy Impala as our sponsors Foretravel Motorcoach and Biomet are joined by Klotz Oil, Stonehenge Golf Course and Vision It Now.
