No. 14 Hefty® BlackOut™ Chevrolet Impala
NASCAR Nationwide Series (Race 2 of 35)—Phoenix International Raceway
Daytona Recap:
- Eric McClure started the event in the 34th position and worked his way up to the 14th position before a broken spark plug forced him to the garage area for repairs. As a result, the TriStar Motorsports team finished the event in the 33rd position.
New Date and New Car: PIR Notes:
- This weekend’s Nationwide race at PIR will take place a little over a month earlier than in previous years.š It will mark McClure’s 139th career start and his eighth at the one-mile racing facility.
- In seven previous starts, the 32-year-old driver has completed 90.3% of the total laps and has an average finish of 29.4.
- In one year of competition, TriStar Motorsports has a best finish of 14th (April) at PIR.
- The team will utilize chassis No. 5 this weekend.š Previously, it was a Sprint Cup Red Bull chassis before being converted to a Nationwide chassis for the TriStar Motorsports team.

“I am really looking forward to getting to Phoenix. It is a fun track; I like running there, so I am hoping that we can rebound from the disappointment last weekend and get a good finish here. These first five races are important for us as we need to gain any many points as possible and remain in the top-30 for the season. There are a lot of good cars and competitors each week but I believe that this team is behind me and I’m looking forward to having some solid performances. If we can run the way we did at Daytona before the problem, then good days will come.”
