CONCORD, N.C. (March 21, 2011) – Last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, Kenny Wallace drove the No. 09 UNOH Toyota Camry to a 17th place finish after 300 laps of short-track racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Scotts EZ Seed 300. The finish boosted Wallace to the seventh position in the Nationwide Series driver point standings, only 31 points out of first place.

On Friday, prior to Saturday afternoon’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) event, Wallace and RAB Racing participated in three of the four scheduled NNS practices to get the No. 09 Toyota ready to race, opting out of the second on-track session. With Wallace’s feedback and experience competing on the .5-mile track, Crew Chief Scott Zipadelli and the RAB Racing team were able to try different set-ups to find out what would work best for Wallace on race day. In the fourth and final practice session, Zipadelli’s changes proved to be beneficial as Wallace posted speeds good enough for the ninth fastest time.

With similar track conditions on Saturday morning from the previous day’s practices, Wallace made laps quick enough to pick up the 20th starting position for the 150-mile Nationwide Series afternoon event. In the opening laps, Wallace maintained his starting position, as the race competed under mostly green flag conditions with only one caution. After the midway point, Wallace and Zipadelli began making a plan for adjustments to the No. 09 UNOH Toyota. With the caution flag waving frequently over the final 100 laps, the RAB Racing team had several opportunities to make adjustments, which helped Wallace to the 16th position by lap 275. In the closing laps, Wallace kept his top-20 streak alive by finishing 17th in the fourth event of the Nationwide Series season.

After a short drive to Bristol, Tenn., Wallace and the RAB Racing team will once again head west for Nationwide Series action at Auto Club Speedway in California on Saturday, March 26th, for the Royal Purple 300. The NNS race will be broadcast on ESPN beginning at 5:30 p.m. EST and aired on MRN starting at 5:00 p.m. EST.
