Carl Edwards, with a qualifying lap speed of 178.938 mph, captured the NNS O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 Coors Light Pole Award at Texas Motor Speedway.

This was Edwards’ 3rd series pole of the 2011 season, his 24th series career pole (breaks tie for third with Sam Ard and Jeff Green) and his 2nd series pole at Texas Motor Speedway.

Sharing the front row and with a qualifying lap speed of 178.743 mph, will be Brad Keselowski, followed by Elliott Sadler (178.554) starting in the third position, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (178.489) starting fourth and Paul Menard (178.300) will start in the fifth position.

Rounding out the top-ten starting positions will be Trevor Bayne (177.860) who will start sixth, Joey Logano (177.848) seventh, Kyle Busch (177.550) eighth, Kasey Kahne (177.096) ninth and Aric Almirola (176.765) will be starting tenth.

Failing to make the starting lineup was the #55 driven by Brett Rowe.

The O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 is scheduled to get underway a little after 8:30 PM (EST) this evening.
