Talladega Wrap-Up….. MacDonald Motorsports had their best weekend in a long time last week at Talladega with two top-20 finishes. With all the stress that comes with racing two cars for a small team, everyone put in the extra effort and it paid off. Blake was able to better his previous career best finish of 17th by one spot with a 16th place result in the Daystar Television Network No. 82. Donnie Neuenberger drove the Eagle Convenience Stores No. 81 to a 20th place result. It really helped the 81 car in the owner’s standings by moving them up to 26th from 28th.

MacDonald Motorsports at Nashville….. In 11 career starts for the team at Nashville, MacDonald Motorsports has 5 top-25 finishes. Their best start and finish were both by Bobby Hamilton Jr. in the June race of 2009. Bobby started the race in 21st and brought the team a solid 14th place result.

Blake Koch on Nashville….. “I think this weekend is going to be good for us because we have momentum going on as a team. The guys have been working really hard getting the Bristol car back together and making some improvements to it. This will be the first race of the year that my wife is coming to so I am really excited about that. I’m looking to put the Daystar.com Dodge into the top-15 this weekend, that’s our goal.”

Blake’s steady improvement….. It has been great to watch Blake improve each week on the track and off. He gets more comfortable in the car each race and his finishes are starting to show just that. After winning Rookie of the Race in Texas and getting a career best 16th place finish at Talladega, Blake looks to continue with these strong finishes at the 1.333 mile Nashville Super Speedway. Daystar.com will once again be on the No. 81 Dodge as the primary sponsor for the weekend.

Rookie of the Year?….. After Talladega, Blake moved from 3rd in the Rookie of the Year standings to 2nd. He is just 11 points behind Timmy Hill, which is pretty impressive considering he did not race at Daytona or Las Vegas.
