MacDonald Motorsports @ Michigan….. Pat and Randy MacDonald’s No. 81 Dodge has made 5 career starts at the fast 2 mile oval in Brooklyn, Michigan. Their best start and finish both came in 2009 with JJ Yeley at the wheel. JJ qualified the car in 17th and brought it home solidly in 21st position.

Blake Koch on Michigan….. “It was nice to have a week off and relax with my wife but it will be great to get back into the race car. We really need a strong run this week and I’m going to do all I can to put the Daystar.com No. 81 towards the front and get another Rookie of the Race award.”

Chicago Wrap-Up….. Blake showed speed during practice in the Daystar Dodge with the 21st fastest time of the session. When qualifying was rained out, NASCAR lined up the field according to practice times but Blake’s car was just too loose. A vibration throughout the race hurt the team as well and the best finish they could manage was a 27th place.

Off Week Trip to Bahamas….. During the off week, Blake was able to spend some quality time with his wife on a quick vacation to the Bahamas. Hopefully this will be a nice break from racing before 14 straight weeks on the road, starting this weekend in Michigan.

Through 15 career NNS races….. Blake Koch made his 15th career start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series June 4th in Chicago. Through those races, Blake has notched 7 top-25 finishes and 3 top-20’s. His average finish for those 15 races is 26.6.

An improvement to MIS….. Michigan International Speedway has done a ton over the off season to improve the facilities for the fans. They have lowered ticket prices, improved the traffic flow going into and out of the track, and remodeled the suites on pit road. They also have added a new tunnel on the front stretch so fans can walk freely back and forth from the pits to the grandstands.
