Eric McClure, No. 14 Hefty® BlackOut™ / Reynolds™ Chevrolet Impala Daytona International Speedway Preview
Press Release
- This weekend will mark the series’ second trip to Daytona International Speedway and its final superspeedway event of the season.
- Friday night’s Subway Jalapeno 250 will be Eric McClure’s 154th career NNS start and his 11th at the historic 2.5-mile facility.
- The 32-year-old driver recorded his best finish at the superspeedway (17th) last February and has completed 90.2% of the total laps in 10 starts.
- Earlier this season at DIS, the Hefty Racing® team was running in the top-15 when a unique spark plug failure forced the No. 14 Chevrolet to the garage area for repairs. In the end the team was scored with a 33rd-place finish.
Personal Appearance for McClure
- McClure, along with his Hefty® BlackOut™/Reynolds™ simulator, will be making an appearance at Wal-Mart 1391 (1101 Beville Rd Daytona Beach, FL) from 11am – 12pm on Friday, July 1. Stop by and get an autograph and race your friends on the simulator.

“I really like coming to Daytona and I believe this is one of the only tracks where we will be on an equal playing ground with all of the other cars. We were running well here in February and had an unfortunate mechanical issue that caused us to spend several laps in the garage repairing the problem. If something like that doesn’t happen again, we could have a good day.”
