MacDonald Motorsports @ Daytona….. In 17 career starts at the high banks of Daytona, MacDonald Motorsports has had some great success. With current owner Randy MacDonald behind the wheel in 1991 he was able to qualify the car in 8th and finish in 9th. This was his best career finish in the NASCAR Nationwide Series as well as his best qualifying result. More recently in 2009 DJ Kennington was able to get a good result by bringing the No. 81 Dodge home in 17th position.

Blake Koch on Daytona….. “We ran strong at the last restrictor plate race so there’s no reason to think we won’t be good at Daytona. This will be the first time I will be driving my new camper to a race so I’m excited to spend some time with my family while at the track.”

Two top-20’s at last plate race….. At Talladega in April, MacDonald Motorsports went to the race track with two cars driven by Blake Koch and Donnie Neuenberger. With a strong effort by the team, they were able to get a top-20 for both the 81 and 82 cars. Donnie finished 20th while Blake got his best finish of his career at the time with a 16th.

Best career finish last weekend….. A top-15 has been Blake’s goal all season long and it came last weekend in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin at Road America. Blake learned the tough 14-turn road course quickly and drove an excellent race to finish in the 14th position. This was Blake’s best career finish and third career top-20.

21st in points…. Following the strong run in Road America, Blake has advanced up to 21st in the driver standings. He is just 13 points out of making his way into the top-20 despite missing two races early on in the season.

Home race for Blake….. Daytona has always had a special place in Blake’s heart and for good reason. Blake was actually born at Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach located just 1 mile from the speedway. This will be his first ever start at the famed 2.5 mile tri-oval and Blake is looking for another top-15 finish.
