No. 30 Muc-Off / Battery Tender Chevrolet News and Notes

Home sweet home for Stewart Cooper… The No. 30 Chevrolet crew chief is heading home this weekend as the series heads to Tennessee. The Nashville-native loves racing at his home track and has a few favorite spots he can’t go to Nashville without visiting. One of his first stops is always San Antonio Taco Company (http://thesatco.com/) and he never misses J. Alexander’s (www.jalexanders.com). When he gets some time away from the track, Cooper loves to take advantage of all the live country music Nashville is legendary for, always stopping by the Whiskey Bent Saloon (www.whiskeybentsaloon.com) and Tootsies Orchid Lounge (www.tootsies.net).

In the driver’s seat… ARCA Racing Series graduate, Mikey Kile, will return to the seat of the No. 30 Chevrolet this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway. In 28 ARCA Racing Series starts in 2009 and 2010, Kile boasts one win, eight top-five and 19 top-10 finishes. He captured two pole awards in 2010 and has led a total of 183 laps. Kile made his NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) debut with Turner Motorsports at Nashville Superspeedway in April. He brought home his series-best finish of 16th last weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Kile at Nashville Superspeedway… Kile has two NNS starts at the Music City speedway to his credit. In 2010, he made his series’ debut at the track, getting caught up in an on-track incident which relegated him to a 33rd-place finish. Earlier this season Kile made his season debut at the 1.33-mile track.

This week’s Impala… The No. 30 Muc-Off/Battery Tender team will hit the track with chassis TMS-120 this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway. This is the same chassis James Buescher drove to an eighth-place finish at Dover International Speedway and Kile piloted at Chicagoland Speedway, starting from the fifth spot.

Turner Motorsports: In the hunt… In 19 Nationwide Series events in 2011, Turner Motorsports-prepared entries have notched three wins, 17 top-five and 39 top-10 finishes. All three of Turner Motorsports’ championship contending drivers are inside the top-six in the driver point standings with Reed Sorenson in second, Justin Allgaier in fourth and Jason Leffler in sixth.

Kile on heading back to Nashville

“It is exciting heading back to Nashville this weekend. It is a track that I have experience running at and I can use everything I have learned over my last few starts to bring home another solid finish in this Muc-Off/Battery Tender Chevy. I am proud of what I accomplished last weekend in the car and I ready to build off of that finish to bring home a solid top-10.”
