Press Release
Kroger 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway
No. 11 Shore Lodge Team Notes of Interest
· Brian Scott and the No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota team will tackle the short track of Lucas Oil Raceway for this weekend’s NASCAR Nationwide Series Kroger 200. The event at the .686-mile track will not be taking place in 2012 which makes this weekend’s race bittersweet.
· Scott has only one career start in NASCAR Nationwide Series competition at Lucas Oil Raceway and that was the 2010 race where he finished 17th after starting the race from 16th place. Additionally, Scott has two starts in Camping World Truck Series competition at the track with his best effort being a 12th-place finish during the track’s 2009 Truck Series event.
· Last Race: Scott battled a loose-handling No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota during the first half of last weekend’s Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway. The loose condition wound up putting Scott a lap down. Adjustments to the car and line around the track seemed to help Scott during the latter half of the race as the Shore Lodge Toyota came around and was one of the fastest cars on the track. With only a handful of cautions slowing the race, Scott was unable to secure the “Lucky Dog” to get back on the lead lap. He eventually finished the race in the 17th position.
· Scott is in 10th place in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver point standings following the event in Nashville. He is 13 points out of eighth place points and 21 points out of seventh place. Reed Sorenson took over the top spot in the championship point standings. He owns a five-point lead ahead of Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

How much do you look forward to short track races like at Lucas Oil Raceway?
“I think this is going to be a fun weekend. We all get to go back to how it started for most of us and that’s a Saturday night at a short track. I’m sure we’ll see a lot of pushing and shoving which means that tempers will probably be running short. It’s a little sad because we won’t be racing at LOR in 2012 so I think we’ll see a lot of teams trying to make the most of this race Saturday night.”
How hard is it for you and the team to deal with a string of tough races?
“Fortunately despite all of our misfortune this year we have a great team. Kevin Kidd and all of the guys on the No. 11 shore Lodge team do a great job at staying positive and working through all of the negatives that we’ve had this year. They’re still working around the shop with a smile on their face and they are as excited about the upcoming race as if we’ve just won every single one of them. They all look forward to the next race and I commend them for that. It’s definitely been a year where it is easy to get frustrated from all aspects – from the crew chief’s point, from my point, and from the crew guys’ point. They keep me going and I hope I keep them going. It’s a true team effort when the chips are down and we’re all digging and trying to make our way out of this darkness.”
