Mike Wallace Notes and Info:
· This will be the St. Louis native’s 404th career NNS start and 22nd of the season. The four-time NNS race winner is on a streak of earning three consecutive top-20 finishes right now, with six of them coming in the last eight races.
· Wallace has earned a total of one top-five, two top-10, four top-15 and 11 top-20 finishes this year.
· In two previous starts at the short track of Iowa Speedway, he’s earned a 28th and 19th place, respectively, finishes. When the series visited here earlier this year, he started 21st en route to that 19th place result.
· As mentioned, he’s currently 13th in the Driver’s Standings trailing two drivers tied for 11th by just one point.
· There are two practice sessions on Friday then qualifying airs on ESPN2 Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET with race action soon after at 7 p.m. for the 250 lap race.
Chrissy Wallace “Trek to the Championship” watch is on as Mike’s daughter goes for her sixth win in the Late Model division at Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Missouri. She’s currently leading the tight points battle with seven races left in her season. So, with both of them racing under the lights at their respective tracks on Saturday night, there will be two green flags waving over father and daughter at the same time, just in different states.

“I grew up on the short tracks like we’ll be racing on at Iowa Speedway this weekend. So, I already have a liking for any track like this one. They did a great job in building this place and I know my brother, Rusty, was instrumental in working with them on the design and layout.”
“I like racing here because there are multiple grooves and you’re not stuck in the single line around the track mentality like we are at some tracks. The two practice sessions on Friday are late enough that we’ll get a good chance to dial our Chevrolet in just right.”
“It’s going to be tough keeping up with how Chrissy is doing while we’re both racing at the same time, but I’m sure someone will figure out how to get word to me.”
“I’d like to thank the folks at Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel for their hospitality this weekend. It’s a great place to stay, and play.”
