Press Release
U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway
No. 11 Shore Lodge Team Notes of Interest
· Brian Scott and the No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota makes a return trip to Newton, Iowa for this weekend’s U.S. Cellular 250 presented by the Enlist Weed Control System 250 at Iowa Speedway.
· This weekend’s race in Newton, Ia., will be Scott’s third career start in Nationwide Series competition at the track. When the series visited Iowa Speedway in May Scott was competing in the top 20 when he was hit by Ricky Stenhouse and sent into the track wall. Scott returned to the race after spending extensive time in the garage for repairs and eventually finished the event in the 27th position.
· In addition to the two starts in Nationwide Series competition at Iowa, Scott has one start in Truck Series competition at the seven-eighths-mile tri-oval track. He scored a ninth-place finish after starting from 18th during the Truck Series race that took place at the track in 2009.
· Last Race: Scott battled a loose-handling Shore Lodge Toyota throughout last weekend’s Kroger 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis. A late-race penalty and collision with driver Kenny Wallace compounded the evening’s issues and he eventually finished the race in 15th place.
· Scott is currently ninth in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver point standings. He is six points out of eighth place following last week’s race at Lucas Oil Raceway.
· Chassis #111 is the car Scott will race this weekend at Iowa Speedway. This is the same car Scott raced at Iowa when the NASCAR Nationwide Series visited Iowa Speedway in May. This will mark the fourth race of the 2011 NASCAR season for Chassis #111. Scott has raced Chassis #111 to a top-10 finish at Phoenix International Raceway, where he finished ninth and finished 15th with the car at Richmond International Raceway. Chassis #106 will serve as the backup. This car has not yet been raced in 2011.

Talk a little about your luck this season.
“If you could place bets in Las Vegas as to who is going to finish 15th, then I am your guy. We run in the top 10 just about every week. We are right there with everybody else. It seems like the last lap of every race I lose 10 positions. We were in good position in Indianapolis last week and we were going to finish seventh or sixth. We were right there with Carl (Edwards). Coming to the white flag, Kenny Wallace comes down the race track a little bit on the frontstretch and he hits my front tire. I start heading to the inside wall so I juice it up and spin the car out to not hit the wall and I end up finishing 15th.
Those green-white-checkered flag finishes have been the kiss of death for us this year. It’s to the point where I can be sitting in third place at the end of the race and I start wondering what is going to happen. So that’s just kind of how our luck has gone. And I have tried everything when it comes to turning our luck around. And I mean everything. If you can be superstitious about anything that relates to luck and doing things different then I have tried it. But we are running good and our cars are good. The pit crew is great so hopefully we can just finally figure things out to finish the race.”
