No. 11 Shore Lodge Team Notes of Interest
· Brian Scott and the No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota team prepare for the third road course event of the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series season and the second in a row as the series follows up last week’s race at Watkins Glen International with this week’s NAPA Auto Parts 200 at the Montreal-based Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
· Scott has only one previous start at the 2.709-mile Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and that was during the 2010 Nationwide Series event. Scott was caught up in a lap-eight accident during the 2010 event and was scored with a 40th-place finish by the time the event concluded.
· Last Race: The No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota was easily a top-10 car at Watkins Glen International when Scott encountered an over-heating issue on the car. Debris in the esses accumulated on a number of drivers’ cars throughout the event causing temperature issues in the engine department. Scott had to make an unscheduled pit stop for the team to clean the grill which ended up placing the Shore Lodge Toyota down one lap to the leaders. Unable to get back on the lead lap before the race ended, Scott was scored with a 14th-place finish.
· Scott moved up one spot in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver standings with his top-15 finish at Watkins Glen International. He is 10 points behind Steven Wallace in eighth place.
· Chassis #118 is the car Scott will race this weekend in Montreal. Chassis #118 is the car Scott competed with at Road America in June where Scott was running in the third position when he was taken out of contention by another driver on a green-white-checkered flag restart. He eventually finished the race in 16th place. Chassis #114 will serve as the backup. Chassis #114 was used last weekend at Watkins Glen International where Scott picked up a 14th-place finish.

What are your thoughts as you prepare for the third and final road course race of 2011?
“Well, we’ve actually run pretty well at the other two road course races this year we just don’t have the finishes to show for it. We obviously were taken out of contention while running third with only a couple laps to go at Road America. Then last week at Watkins Glen we had the over-heating issue because of all of the debris and had to make an extra stop under the green flag that really hurt us. We were easily a top-10 car there. So, I don’t know – maybe the third time will be the charm for our Shore Lodge Toyota Team. I have all of the confidence in the world in Kevin (Kidd, crew chief) when it comes to developing a game plan for pit strategy. Hopefully all of the stars line up and we can get a good finish in Montreal this weekend.”
