PARKER KLIGERMAN (No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger R/T) Finished 9th
“I felt like this team had a top-five car tonight. I’m a little disappointed for these guys with the Discount Tire Dodge Challenger. They worked their butts off. Going out there and spinning out, I didn’t need to do that, but the driver was able to recover. I want to thank Roger Penske, Discount Tire, Dodge and the whole organization for the opportunity to do this. It’s an opportunity not too many young drivers get, to drive as good a car as I had tonight.
I’m proud to be a part of it. I thought I was going to get my best Nationwide finish there in the last five laps. I just got loose underneath those guys and couldn’t pick up the positions. It’s good to get a top 10 out there tonight.”
TODD GORDON (Crew Chief, No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger R/T)
“I think Parker did a pretty good job tonight. We were afraid of being tight, but we had it too loose at the start. We never did catch up with the race track. He spun out, but did a good job not hitting anything. He drove his way back up there and finished ninth. It was a growing experience and I think we can grow from that.
“We fought loose all night, all the way around. We really didn’t anticipate that. We’re learning what this race track does at night with these cars. Overall, it was a good night for the Discount Tire Dodge.”
