30th NNS start for Blake….. This weekend at the Monster Mile, Blake Koch will make his 30th start in his NASCAR Nationwide Series career. Blake has turned a lot of heads in the garage area and shown some moments of real speed in the Daystar.com No. 81. His best finish came earlier this summer at Road America of all places where he notched a 14th place result. Blake has 6 top-20’s and 14 top-25 finishes with only 4 DNF’s in his 29 prior starts. To compare, 2010 Nationwide Series Champion Brad Keselowski also had 6 top-20’s but only 8 top-25’s in his first 30 starts.

MacDonald Motorsports @ Dover….. In 20 career starts at the lightning fast 1 mile concrete oval, MacDonald Motorsports has a best career finish of 15th. That came in 2009 with Kevin Hamlin in the seat of the Vector Securities No. 81 Dodge. Earlier this season, Blake had one of his fastest race cars of the year after practice, ending up 22nd on the charts. Rain forced him to start at the tail of the field and he was caught up in a lap 1 accident with his MacDonald Motorsports teammate, Donnie Neuenberger.

Blake Koch on Dover….. “I enjoyed my week off with my wife but I can’t wait to get back in the Daystar No. 81. Earlier this year at Dover we had a really fast racecar and I don’t see any reason why we won’t be quick again, we just have to stay out of trouble early. That was my first DNF in Nationwide and that finish still really hurts me in the points.”

Off week for the team….. For the first time in 14 weeks, The NASCAR Nationwide Series had a weekend with no race. This was huge for the MacDonald Motorsports team and gave the guys a chance to relax at home with their families. It is easy to forget how much time and dedication it takes to be on a NASCAR team. The racetrack and hotel rooms become home for long periods of time and everyone was happy to have a weekend with their wives and children.

Tight battle for 18th….. Following the Chicago race, Blake is currently locked up in an extremely close battle for 18th in the points. Blake currently holds the 18th spot but just 3 points separate him from Derrike Cope and Eric McClure.

Follow Blake on Social Media….. Keep up with everything that Blake is doing by following him on Facebook and Twitter. Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/BlakeKRacing and twitter @BlakeKochRacing.
