Brian Scott, No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota Camry Dover International Speedway Preview
Press Release
OneMain Financial 200 at Dover International Speedway
No. 11 Shore Lodge Team Notes of Interest
· Brian Scott and the No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota travel to Scott’s favorite track for this weekend’s OneMain Financial 200 at Dover International Speedway. After winning the pole and scoring a season-best third-place finish two weeks ago at Chicagoland Speedway, Scott is looking for more this weekend at the track where he has a win in Truck Series competition.
· Scott scored a win in the Dover Truck Series event in May of 2009. He started the race from the third position and led 14 laps in route to the victory.
· This weekend’s Nationwide Series race at Dover will be Scott’s fourth Dover start in the series and he will be looking for a certain amount of redemption at the “Monster Mile” after finding trouble at the track’s race in May. Scott qualified seventh for the race but was caught up in an accident at lap 46. He eventually had to retire from the race due to the damage on the car and was scored with a 30th-place finish.
· Chassis #128 is the car Scott will race this weekend at Dover International Speedway. This will mark the third race of the 2011 NASCAR season for Chassis #128. Scott scored a pair of 17th-place finishes with this particular chassis when it was raced at Michigan International Speedway in June and Nashville Superspeedway in July. Chassis #106 will serve as the backup. This car has not yet been raced in 2011.
· Last Race: It’s been two weeks since the Nationwide Series was in action at Chicagoland Speedway where Scott and the No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota Team picked up a third-place finish after starting from the pole. Scott led the first four laps of the race before dropping back while battling handling issues on the car. Adjustments made to the car right before the halfway point in the race helped considerably and allowed Scott to maneuver the Shore Lodge Toyota back into the top five and eventually score the third-place finish.
· Scott is currently ninth in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver point standings with only six races left in the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series season. He is 13 points behind Steven Wallace in eighth place.

Do you look forward to racing at Dover?
“It’s nice this week because Chicago recently has become one of my favorite race tracks so I would say Chicago and Dover are tied as my favorite race tracks. Dover is the site of where I scored my Camping World Truck Series win in 2009 and I have a couple of top finishes in the Nationwide Series car, so Dover has been one of my favorite tracks for a while. It’s neat to have gone to Chicago two weeks ago, had a good run at one of my favorite places, then have a weekend off before going to another one of my favorite races so it’s kind of a good stretch for me. And actually the whole end of the year is kind of a good stretch for me because of the tracks we visit at the end. I like all of these places coming up.”
What does a lap around Dover feel like?
“Dover, out of all of the tracks we go to, gives you the greatest speed sensation. It’s one of those tracks where I don’t know how fast we actually go around there but you feel like you are just hauling the mail there. There are some tracks where you don’t really feel the speed. You just don’t feel that speed at most of the mile-and-a-half tracks. Talladega and Daytona you don’t feel like you are ripping around there but at Dover you feel like ‘wow, I am actually moving around here.’ It’s cool because you have the casino on the backstretch and you can basically walk from the motorhome to the casino sand there’s always fun stuff to do at Dover because of that. So I really look forward to it.”
