No. 11 Shore Lodge Team Notes of Interest
· Brian Scott and the No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota team travel to the Midwest for this week’s Kansas Lottery 300 at the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway.
· Scott has made two starts at Kansas Speedway in NASCAR Nationwide Series competition with his best effort being a 14th-place finish during the track’s 2009 series event. Additionally, Scott has two Kansas starts in Camping World Truck Series competition with his best effort in that series being a third-place finish during the track’s 2009 truck series race. Scott started seventh and led three laps in route to the top-five finish.
· The No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota team will take Chassis #134 to this weekend’s race at Kansas Speedway. This is a new chassis for the team and it hasn’t been raced nor tested. The backup car is Chassis #106. Chassis #106 has been the backup car for the team for the majority of the 2011 races and it has yet to be raced this season.
· Last Race: Scott started last Saturday’s race at Dover International Speedway from the 11th position and easily had a top-10 car during the race. While making his final pit stop of the race during green-flag conditions Scott locked up the brakes on the No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota coming to pit road. In an effort to keep from hitting the car of Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., who was pitting at the same time, Scott tried to go back up on the track but made contact with the barrels at the opening of pit road. The damage was only cosmetic and Scott was able to stay on the lead lap after stopping for repairs, tires, fuel and a chassis adjustment. He eventually finished the race in 11th place.
· Scott remains ninth in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver point standings following his 11th-place run at Dover last weekend. He is four points out of eighth place.

Talk about the team’s progress during the last several races.
“I’m really happy with how our Toyota has been running lately. Kevin (Kidd, crew chief) and I are really on the same page now. I have improved a lot at communicating to the team and to be more beneficial for them in practice and getting our car better and figuring out what exactly we need with these new Nationwide Series cars for the race and to be competitive. On top of that the guys at the shop have been doing an incredible job building faster race cars and incorporating new technology and things that we’ve learned throughout the year into our race car. We’re always getting better and we’re getting better on every front. So it’s been a lot of fun to have our racecars be as fast and as competitive as they have been lately and it gets me excited for the last handful of races.”
Talk about Kansas
“I love Kansas. Kansas is another great race track for me. I’ve had great runs there in the Truck Series races. I like the mile-and-a-half, flatter race tracks – Kentucky, Kansas – those types of tracks. It’s like Kentucky. It’s not quite as bumpy as Kentucky but it has a little better grip. It’s a pretty standard mile and a half track but I just like those tracks and seem to adapt better to those tracks. I look forward to Kansas. It’s one of my favorite places.”
