Press Release
Blake Koch on Charlotte….. “I’m really excited about this Friday nights race at Charlotte. It’s always great to have my mom at the track with me, especially this weekend. Daystar is letting me run a pink car again to show support for breast cancer and my mom’s long battle with it. I really want to run good for her and bring more awareness to breast cancer.”
MacDonald Motorsports @ Charlotte….. The May race at Charlotte was definitely one that Blake and the team would like to forget. A blown motor ended the race for the Pink Daystar.com No. 81 early, leaving them with a 34th place finish. 2005 was the high point for the team, getting a 9th place run with Kevin Lepage in the driver’s seat.
Blake’s wife racing…. Shannon Koch, wife of Blake, will take her turn behind the wheel this weekend in the Better Half Dash. The race will feature wives and girlfriends of NASCAR drivers and benefit Motor Racing Outreach and Speedway Children’s Charities. The women will drive Bandolero cars provided by US Legend Cars in a 25 lap race on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Kansas Wrap-Up….. Blake struggled in practice but then laid down an amazing lap in qualifying to put him 18th on the grid. During the race, Blake stayed out of trouble and ran right with his veteran teammate throughout the race. At the checkered, Blake gave the Daystar.com team another top-25 without putting a scratch on the racecar.

About MacDonald Motorsports
The MacDonald family name has been in the racing circles since owner, Randy MacDonald, started his own driving career in the 1980’s. The provisions made by Randy’s father, Merril “Doc” MacDonald, and mother Pat helped Randy start racing professionally and establish his own company. Randy’s father Doc helped him create business relationships and carry out other important functions of the team until finishing his own race in March of 2007. Despite his death, Doc’s impact on the team will not end, as MacDonald Motorsports continues on in his honor and memory.
