Brian Scott Post-Race Recap

Wypall 200 at Phoenix International Raceway

Race Highlights:

* Brian Scott and the Shore Lodge Team tested all day on Thursday at the newly configured Phoenix International Raceway in preparation for Saturday’s event. On Friday in the final NASCAR Nationwide Series practice, the team was top five on the speed chart and had one of the most consistent cars on the track.

* Scott went out 43rd in qualifying, but the No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota was extremely loose on his attempt. His lap time earned him the 24th starting spot for the 200-lap race.

* Despite the starting spot, Scott and the Shore Lodge Team were extremely optimistic about the race. Unfortunately they never had the opportunity to race. On the green-flag lap, Scott was hooked in the left rear and sent spinning into the wall. Scott took the mandatory trip to the care center and was treated and released without injury. The No. 11 Toyota however was beyond repair and the team was unable to get it back on the track. Scott was scored in the 41st position.

* Scott sits ninth in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver standings with one race remaining on the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule. He is six points behind Michael Annett in eighth place. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has a 41 point lead in the standings over Elliott Sadler in second heading into the season finale.
