JEFFERSON, GA (February 8, 2011) – Michael Waltrip Racing returned today for the second time this year. Ryan Truex tested for MWR today at GMP, following teammate, Travis Pastrana, who tested at GMP in January.

Truex raced in the NASCAR K&N race at GMP last August, but his agenda did not include K&N today. Running the Nationwide car for MWR in 2011, Truex used the test time to prepare for Daytona next week.

“I had a good time today,” said Truex. “We mainly wanted to give the guys a chance to work together and for me to feel out the new Nationwide car.”

Chemistry is important with any pit crew, especially with a new pit crew. With the challenge of new crew members, testing before going to Daytona gave the crew a chance to work together, which was the main goal for the team today. Truex will have no worries; the crew seemed on top of it at GMP and seemed to work well with each other.

Don’t look for Truex in NASCAR’s K&N Series in 2011 because filling the driver’s seat of the Michael Waltrip Racing Nationwide car will take up most of his time during the race season. With Truex and Pastrana adding to MWR’s already strong lineup, big things are expected for the team this year!
