Spencer Gallagher and Clark-Diederich Racing Title Run Starts in Phoenix
Press ReleaseClark-Diederich Racing and rookie driver Spencer Gallagher will begin their quest in the NASCAR K&N Pro West Series this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway in the “3 Amigos Organic Blanco 100” on Thursday afternoon. After making their debut in the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown last month in Irwindale, CA, Gallagher and the #23 Allegiant team embark on the challenge of competing for the Rookie of the Year title as the season gets underway.
Although the young Las Vegas native has a lot on his plate this season, competing in select NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and ARCA races throughout the year, his primary focus will be competing fulltime in the Pro West Series. Gallagher and his team understand the competition at this level is going to be higher than that of any he has competed against in the past and they will focus on keeping their expectations in check throughout the year.
While almost every team has aspirations at the beginning of each season to compete for the series championship, TJ Clark and Chris Diederich have reminded Gallagher that completing as many laps and running at the end of the races is their ultimate goal. For any developmental driver in this position, seat time in the race car is more valuable than any accolade he can walk away with at the end of the year. So for this race team and their talented young driver, the focus will always be on staying out of trouble and bringing home solid finishes throughout the year. They feel by accomplishing that first, Gallagher will be in prime position to compete for the Rookie of the Year honors throughout the season.
Allegiant®, which will be the primary sponsor on the #23 Clark-Diederich Racing Chevrolet throughout the entire 2011 season, will have several guests in attendance for the season opener. The Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport serves as one of their busiest hubs, providing travel to more than 30 destinations.
