“Schendel to drive the #52 Means Chevrolet in the Scott’s EZ Seed 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway”

Sparta, WI, March 16, 2011 — Sparta, WI late model driver, Tim Schendel, will be behind the wheel of the #52 Means Racing Chevrolet Impala SS this weekend at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Schendel will be one of forty-four drivers vying for a spot in the 300 lap Nationwide Series race. The Scott’s EZ Seed 300 will be run on the 1/2 mile lap track on Saturday, March 19.

This is not the first time Schendel has been pegged by car owner, Jimmy Means, to drive his #52 Chevrolet. In 2010, Schendel raced three times for Means Racing. He raced in Nashville, St. Louis and at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, IA. This weekend will be Schendel’s first time racing at the Bristol Motor Speedway.

“I’m really looking forward to going to Bristol.” Schendel said. “I’ve done a lot of research on the track, have talked with racers who have raced there and I’m confident in my abilities to be able to perform on that track.”

The 31-year old Schendel has been a regular driver in the ASA Midwest Series – a late model race car series that travels throughout the Upper Midwest. He will return to this series in 2011 as an ASA Midwest “Touring Star.” He is also building and developing a mentor program for up and coming 14 year old driver, Matt Tifft, for the 2011 season. He’s also hoping that this race will lead to more Nationwide or Camping World Series driving opportunities in 2011.

“The more I can race in the Nationwide Series and gain exposure, the more I am hoping I can realize a goal of mine to become a regular driver in one of these upper echelon series.” Schendel said. “ I’m so thankful to Jimmy Means for giving me this opportunity.

I’m really hoping that I have a clean race and a good finish for the #52 Means Racing Chevrolet.”

The Scott’s EZ Seed 300 will be televised live on ESPN beginning at 2 p.m. EDT on Saturday, March 19.
