Caleb Holman Clinches First Victory of the Season at Ace Speedway
Press Release
Holman qualified fifth for the White’s International Trucks 250 presented by Dave’s Discount Furniture. From the drop of the green flag, pole sitter and previous race winner, J.P. Morgan jumped out front with a strong lead followed by Holman, who remained within the top two positions throughout the night.
After pitting for fuel and then tires, Holman took over the lead from Morgan on lap 146 when he pitted for tires. Holman took the white flag, and then the caution came out in turn four, which resulted in a green, white, checkered finish.
Holman lead the field to green for the final time of the night holding off second place finisher, Bradley Rogers, to score his first win of the 2011 season and his sixth USAR Pro Cup Series victory.
“I knew we had a good car at the beginning of the race, but I knew that I would have a tough time getting around J.P. toward the end. Then when J.P. got caught up in that wreck on one of the restarts I just had to be smooth and hold off the 16 car,” said Holman. “We wrecked this car a couple of weeks ago at New Smyrna and had to get a rear clip put on it. We worked hard to get it put back together. This makes those long hours and hard work worth it all!”
Up next on the plate for the USAR Pro Cup Series on April 16th is Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, SC.
