After nearly a year long absence from the short track scene, SS Green Light Racing will return to the track for the Pro All Star Series 300 lap “The Race” Saturday at North Wilkesboro Speedway. With three time ASA National Champion Butch Miller calling the shots from atop the pit box, Colorado ace Chris Eggleston will head to the historic event at one of the most famous short-tracks in the country with the goal to take home the $75,000 first place prize.

The SS Green Light team will put 22 year-old Colorado State University Business Management major behind the wheel of the team’s potent No. 08 ASI Limited late model to face off against over 80 of the best short track drivers from the country competing for one of the biggest prizes in recent asphalt racing history.

Eggleston brings a long resume of winning at short-tracks all over the United States; beginning with quarter midgets at age five and then progressing to Legends before moving into a late model in 2006. Chris won the prestigious ASA Late Model North Division Series Championship in 2009 accumulating two wins and seven top-fives in just ten events.

Chris ran five NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events with Miller as his crew chief at SS Green Light Racing in 2010 posting a head-turning 11th place finish in his first ever NCWTS start at Martinsville last March.

“I’m really looking forward to running with Butch again,” an excited Eggleston explained. “We had a great chemistry last year in the truck and he is one of the best short track racers ever. ”

“We’re are heading there with expectations of making the race on time and then using experience and tire management to be strong at the end of the race. I feel really confident that we can make the show and make a run for the money.”

“I want to thank Ken Smith and Bobby Dotter for giving me the chance to run this race and I’m sure that Butch and the SS Green Light guys will have the car perfectly prepared.”

Miller is also excited for the challenge of the big event, “Chris showed me so much last year when we ran together in the trucks. His communication is fantastic and he’s run really well on many short tracks in whatever series he’s run. Chris’ experience at Berlin finishing in the top-three each time he has raced there was key to us asking him to drive the ASI Limited No. 08 this weekend.”

“It’s an off weekend for the truck series so we’ll have our crew at the track. I’m really excited to get the late model out again.”

Practice will be Thursday April 7th from 4:00 to 8:00 and Friday April 8th from Noon until 4:00 with qualifying for the big show at 5:00 pm. There will be last chance races on Saturday afternoon and the green flag will fall on “The Race” at 6:00 Saturday evening.
