Austin, TX 5/25/11- After having not raced since the 2011 Rattler 250 at the South Alabama Speedway in early March, Texas resident Casey Smith is making his return to racing for his second start of the 2011 season. Smith will compete in this weekend’s Gulf Coast series races at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola , Florida on Friday night May 27th followed by a 100 lap event at Mobile (AL) International Speedway the following night on Saturday May 28th.

This weekend’s event will mark Casey’s return to the ten race back to back series after he missed the first round of the Gulf Coast championship series back in late March. According to Smith while the time off was a necessity to get his race team in order it was tough missing a race in the Gulf Coast series where he has been a staple at for almost five seasons now.

“It was tough having to sit out that first double header in March because I haven’t missed a complete double header since I can remember, but it was necessary to get everything both on the racing side of things and the company business side of things in order,” stated Smith. “I’m not worried about the time off at all. Once I get a few laps in to knock the cob webs off I’ll be fine.”

The business side of things that Smith was referring to is also part of the racing program as his Smith Paving Inc. company is now the exclusive dealer of SealMaster paving products in the Austin , Texas area. While the SealMaster family is new to the Smith Paving company they aren’t new to stock car racing, so when the #99 Casey Smith Racing Chevy Impala hits the high banks of Five Flags Speedway Friday with its new SealMaster color it will only be a natural fit.

“It’s really an awesome deal for our family company to have SealMaster as one of the products to offer to our customer, and not to mention having the SealMaster colors and logo on the quarter panels of our #99 Chevy Impala,” noted an enthusiastic Smith. “Hopefully we can have a solid run on the first race with the SealMaster colors. I know I’m ready to get back racing especially back on Mobile .”

The double header kicks off at 7pm on Friday May 27th with the Papa John’s 100 at the Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola , Florida . Then race two of two will be another 100 lap event at Mobile , Alabama ’s Mobile International Speedway on Saturday May 28th at 8pm .
