CORNELIUS, N.C. — No. 00 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota driver Brett Moffitt races this Saturday at Langley Speedway in Hampton, Va. Moffitt, a Grimes, Iowa native, ranks fourth in the K&N Pro Series East standings, trailing the series leader by 84 points. Moffitt earned victories at Greenville-Pickens and Iowa Speedways in 2011 leading 355 of 873 laps (41 percent) this season. The 18-year-old driver is the only driver in the East Series this season to earn multiple victories.

Moffitt is celebrating Father’s Day by looking back and appreciating the sacrifices his father, Richard Moffitt, gave to help him follow his dream of a driving career. Richard Moffitt is spending Saturday at the track cheering on his son.

MOFFITT QUOTES

ON LANGLEY SPEEDWAY: “This weekend we’re going to Langley in Virginia. It will be the first time racing there for me. I’m really looking forward to it. We went testing there and the car was good. I hope we can get back on the right track there, have a little bit of luck on our side this week, and not run into trouble like last weekend at Gresham. We need to recover in points from that, but we are looking forward to it and it should be good.”

ON THE 25TH SEASON OF THE NASCAR EAST SERIES: “This is the East Series’ 25th year running and that’s just amazing that NASCAR puts all of that effort towards the East Series. It is a great way for drivers to come up and there are many older drivers that are still running. Everyone is just there to have fun and run competitively. It’s a great series and I’m glad they put so much effort towards it.”

ON FATHER’S DAY: “This weekend is Father’s Day and without my dad none of this would be possible. It’s amazing what my family has done for me and how much my dad has supported me through the years beginning in go-karts all the way until now running in the East Series here at Michael Waltrip Racing. I thank him a ton, I thank him every day for what he has done, all the sacrifices he has made. Without him, this would not be possible. It’s awesome that he did that, and I look forward to seeing him this weekend at Langley. We are going to have a good time. I want to wish him a happy Father’s Day.”
