Bradenton, FL (July 11, 2011): Grogan Motorsports, Inc. announced today that they have added Mario Gosselin, a well-known owner/driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, ARCA, and USAR Pro Cup Series, in the role of crew chief for driver Andrew Gipson. The team will make their NASCAR K&N Pro Series East debut at Columbus (OH) Motor Speedway on July 23 with the No. 5 Chevrolet.

“Mario will make a great addition to this team,” said car owner Vicki Gipson. “He comes highly recommended and his own success speaks for itself. His values and that of Grogan Motorsports mirror each other and we’re very excited to be working with him.”

Gosselin has competed in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Nationwide Series, and Craftsman Truck Series as an owner/driver. His career best finish was a sixth place at Talladega Superspeedway in the NCWTS in 2009. Gosselin also has two USAR ProCup Series Championships and three ARCA RE/MAX Series wins, including one at Charlotte Motor Speedway where he won his first career start from the pole position.

“I can’t wait to see how we work together and find what Andrew needs in the car to go fast. He seems like a very well rounded young man. Andrew seems eager and aggressive, but patient enough to sit back and see what he needs,” Gosselin said. ” All the other teams have a good head start on us and we’re going to have to work really hard in the beginning. I think what is important is finding out what makes that car go fast and what Andrew is looking for to make that car go fast.”

Gipson began racing in 2009 competing behind the wheel of a Fastruck Pro Touring Series machine at Charlotte County (FL) Speedway. After winning Rookie-of-the-Year honors, Gipson moved to Desoto Super Speedway’s Pro Truck Division, where he finished 3rd in the points after giving up a championship bid to run in the ACT Late Models in New Hampshire. Grogan Motorsports is approaching the 150-lap event at Columbus Motor Speedway optimistically.

“He needs to finish the races,” said Gosselin. “You have to be there at the end. Experience is key and he has to gain respect from the other drivers. If we are fortunate to have a really good car then maybe we can contend for a top-10 or a top-five, but realistically if we can go to the races and finish in the top-15 and finish all the laps then its a good day.”
