Alex Bowman, No. 59 St. Jude Children’s Hospital Toyota Camry New Hampshire Motor Speedway Preview
Press Release
The 18-year-old will climb into the seat of the No. 59 St. Jude Children’s Hospital Toyota for X-Team Racing after piloting X-Team’s No. 16 for five of the first seven races on the schedule.
Quote from Alex Bowman … “It will be good to get back on a big track. (New Hampshire Motor Speedway) is definitely one that suits my driving style. The team I have behind me this weekend – Robert Huffman, Tony Lambert, everybody else – really understand what it takes to be good at this track. A lot our crew have worked with Andy Santerre in the past, and Andy is one of the best to ever get around this place. I know they’ve learned a thing or two from him.”
Reaching out to St. Jude … Bowman and team have invited St. Jude patients, with their respective families, to watch the New England 125 from the comfort of an at-track suite.
Most Recent Race … The Tucson, Arizona native qualified second and finished sixth in his first-ever start at Langley Speedway (Va.) in last Saturday’s NASCAR K&N Pro Series race. He qualified on the outside pole and led the first lap of the 175-lap event. After running in the third to fourth range for the majority of the evening, several late-race restarts tightened the field and shuffled Bowman through the pack, resulting in a sixth-place finish.
Standings Update … Bowman is currently seventh in the K&N Pro Series East standings – the highest-placing rookie – after earning top-five finishes at Greenville-Pickens Speedway (S.C.) and Richmond International Raceway (Va.). He is six points out of sixth-place and seven points out of fifth.
