Ryan Wilson Powers To Two Top-Three Finishes At Caraway
Press ReleaseWilson entered the weekly Saturday night show on the wave of some momentum. In just his third career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards race, the Randleman, North Carolina stunned many in the ARCA community with an impressive ninth place finish in his Pocono (Pa.) Raceway debut for Win-Tron Racing.
Before the 19-year old set his sights on the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS) dash at Caraway, he made one of his limited starts at Ace Speedway the night before. After qualifying on the outside pole for the second time in only two starts this year, Wilson didn’t have the race he was hoping for and came home a disappointing eighth.
Luckily he would have twin races the next night at Caraway (N.C.) Speedway to try and get his first win of the season.
Despite qualifying seventh in his No. 12 Randolph Bank Toyota Camry in the first of two 50-lap shootouts that night, Wilson attacked the field quickly. An uncharacteristically caution-free race saw Wilson slice and dice his way through the field and take the checkered flag in the third position, giving him a boost heading into the second event of the night.

On the restart, the winner of last Fall’s Richard Petty Driver Search II did everything he possibly could to work his way around the No. 88 of Robert Tyler, but he came a few inches short, having to settle for second.
“Finally, we had a good night at Caraway,” said Wilson. “I think if we would have had a couple more laps we could of easily passed Robert (Tyler), but we just ran out of time. I’m really proud of the Ryan Wilson Motorsports team for bouncing back from a tough night at Ace and being contenders the next. We just have to keep plugging away and we’re bound to put this No. 12 Randolph Bank Toyota Camry in victory lane!”
Next up for Wilson and Co. is a 100-lap bash at Caraway (N.C.) Speedway on Friday, August 26.
