PASS South Returns to South Boston Speedway for 150 Laps of Action on Saturday, August 20th
Press Release“Virginia Track Ready for Second PASS South Super Late Model Appearance of 2011″
Earlier this year in May, the Super Late Model drivers visited South Boston Speedway for 150 laps of competition. Series regular Andy Loden claimed the victory ahead of Preston Peltier, Philip Morris, Stephen Nasse and Ryan Blaney. Loden will be back for the second event, looking for victory lane, and to gain some valuable points late in the season in the points championship chase.
Loden will be joined by some of the best Super Late Model drivers in the country going for the top honors Saturday. Jay Fogleman, Peltier, Blaney, Justin Wakefield, Steven Legendre, Brandon Ward, Jimmy Weller, Gray Gaulding and a host of others have filed entries for the event. Series newcomer Jordan Anderson has filed an entry, as well as part-timers Clay Rogers, Bradley McCaskill and Cassius Clark.
With just four races left in the 2011 PASS South championship chase, Fogleman currently leads Blaney by 20 points. Peltier is third with Loden just four points out of a podium position. Heath Hindman is fifth, followed by Wakefield, Legendre, Weller, Gaulding and Jody Lavender. The points could see a shakeup after the event as Fogleman didn’t have the race he wanted at South Boston earlier this year, finishing outside of the top 10.
Practice for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South “PASS Super Late Model 150 Presented by Gazette Virginian” at South Boston Speedway will take place on Friday, August 19th, starting at 10 AM. On Saturday, August 20th, pit gates open at 12:00 PM with practice starting at 2:00 PM. Grandstands open at 4:30 PM, the same time qualifying will start. The fan appreciation autograph session will take place on track from 5:45 PM – 6:45 PM with feature racing at 7:00 PM. Legends and NASCAR Late Models (two features) will also be in competition.
