CORNELIUS, N.C. — No. 00 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota driver Brett Moffitt races Monday night at Greenville Pickens Speedway in Greenville, S.C. The 19-year-old won the pole and the race when the East Series began its 2011 season at the half-mile track in April. The Grimes, Iowa native, ranks second in the K&N Pro Series East standings, trailing leader Max Gresham by 80 points.
After a six-week break in East Series competition, Moffitt plans to stay busy for the rest of the season. In September, he’ll race in the final three 2011 East Series events plus the IMCA Supernationals event in Boone, Iowa.

GREENVILLE PICKENS:
“We went and tested at Greenville a few weeks ago. We were kind of debating which car was going to be faster, the car we ran at Columbus or the car we won with previously at Greenville. We determined that the car we won with was the faster one, so we know which one to go back with, and we’re feeling pretty confident about heading back there and hopefully winning another race.”SEPTEMBER: “September is really busy. We have three East races and then I’m also going home for a week to run a big dirt race in Iowa – the IMCA Supernationals. I’m racing every weekend this month, which is a lot of fun for me as a driver especially since we’ve had six weeks off. Now we get back in the car and get a ton of races, so we’re looking forward to Greenville and then I’m going back home to do the dirt race and then we have Loudon and Dover. Hopefully we can have four wins by the end of this month.”
STAYING FOCUSED: “During the six-week break it’s a lot of off time and it’s right in the middle of the summer. I had my birthday off and was able to have some fun and hang out with friends. However, it’s also a lot of working on the cars and spending time in the gym and being mentally and physically prepared for these last few races of the year. I’m just getting set up to perform our best and hopefully everything goes our way, and we end up with four wins.”
