Greenville Pickens Speedway

CORNELIUS, N.C. — No. 00 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota driver Brett Moffitt races Saturday night in the rescheduled K&N Pro Series East race at Greenville Pickens Speedway.

Moffitt won the pole and the race when the East Series began its 2011 season at the South Carolina track in April. The 19-year-old Grimes, Iowa native, is second in the standings trailing leader Max Gresham by 80 points.

Rain cancelled activity last Monday at the half-mile track. The postponement enables No. 00 crew chief Mike Greci to resume his place on the pit box after expecting to miss last week’s race due to illness.

MOFFITT ON RAIN DELAYS: “Rain delays don’t really bother me most of the time. However, this week it kind of ruined my dirt race that I had going on. I don’t get to go back to Iowa and do that this week now because of the race in Greenville this coming Saturday. Winning the race at Greenville is definitely our main goal, and we’re putting all of our effort into that. Hopefully we go out there this Saturday and perform how we need to, win these last three races and take home a championship.”

MOFFITT ON GRECI: “Greci is great for the leadership of the team. He keeps us all focused and points out what we’re doing right and what we’re doing wrong. He’s great to have around to take care of all the odds and ends. He mainly just points us in the right direction and keeps us focused on the main goal which is to win the race.”

MIKE GRECI: “I have all the faith in the world in those guys. I don’t want to take away from them. I am going to go to the race this weekend, but they would be fine going to a race on their own. They wouldn’t miss a beat. We need to win every race now. We’re still being haunted by the wreck at South Boston, leading with eight laps to go and being wrecked. However, every time we leave the shop I feel like we have a car capable of winning anyway. We’re well prepared and the guys do a good job.”
