SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — The best of the best NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock Car Division drivers are getting ready to rumble at South Boston Speedway.

In just over a week, the region’s top NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock Car Division competitors will invade America’s Hometown Track for the running of the Danville Toyota Late Model 300 on Saturday, Oct. 22.

And, if the excitement from this past weekend at Martinsville Speedway is any indication, the action promised to be intense when the green flag waves over the historic four-tenths mile asphalt oval at 3 p.m. on Oct. 22.

Among the top competitors expected to compete for the $10,000 first-place check in the Danville Toyota Late Model 300 at South Boston Speedway are Philip Morris of Ruckersville, VA. Natalie Sather of Fargo, ND. Dennis Holdren of Roanoke, VA. Bruce Anderson of South Boston, VA and Lee Pulliam of Semora, N.C.

Morris claimed the South Boston Speedway championship this season on the way to rolling to his fourth NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national championship. Morris was the winner of a track-record 19 races at South Boston Speedway this season.

Pulliam, the runner-up to Morris in the Virginia state championship, placed third in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series national title race and is coming off an impressive victory last weekend at Martinsville Speedway.

Advance tickets for the Danville Toyota Late Model 300 are currently on sale and priced at $15. Advance tickets can be purchased through Friday, Oct. 21. Adult tickets on race day will be priced at $20. Youth, ages 7-12, will be admitted for $10 with a paying adult and children, ages 6 and under, will be admitted free with a paying adult.

Action will get underway in preparation of the 300-lap shootout on Friday, Oct. 21 when practice and qualifying time trial sessions will be held. Practice will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. and qualifying time trials will get cranked up at 4 p.m. The top 15 positions in the Danville Toyota Late Model 300 will be set in qualifying.

On Saturday, Oct. 22, qualifying heat races will decide the final drivers in the field for the Danville Toyota Late Model 300 and the green flag will wave for the 300-lap event at 3 p.m. on Oct. 22. The 25-lap qualifying heat races will get underway at 12 p.m.
