CHARLOTTE, NC (October 26, 2011) – Ray Evernham has a long history with Ronald McDonald House, from the early days when he stayed there while his young son Ray J received treatment for leukemia. Now, he has come full circle –presenting a $1 million check for the new Ronald McDonald House in Charlotte.

As part of the check presentation, Evernham and wife, Erin Crocker Evernham, hosted a trick-or-treat party for the families and patients staying at the house, providing costumes for everyone and lots of candy for the children.

“As a parent who has had a sick child and needed to stay in a Ronald McDonald House, I understand what these families are going through,” said Ray Evernham, CEO of Ray Evernham Enterprises. “Having a friendly place to come home to after a day at the hospital, a home-cooked meal, a warm smile and other parents to talk with are all so important. Erin and I are proud to be able to support the Ronald McDonald House and help meet the needs of the families who are staying here.”

More than 20 families participated in the trick-or-treat parties, including guests staying at the Ronald McDonald House, staff members and members of the Ronald McDonald House board.
